A stunning antique singing bird box automaton.

 

This delightful piece was made in Paris, France in around 1880. The case is crafted from tortoiseshell and the bird consists of real hummingbird feathers. There are also two detailed enamelled miniature paintings featured on both sides of the lid. The singing bird box comes complete with its original outer case and winding key. In summary, this is a beautiful example of an antique singing bird box in perfect working order.
