An exquisite singing bird box automaton.

 

A fine quality antique singing bird box automaton made by Karl Griesbaum of Germany. Both movement and case are in excellent condition. The mechanism is operating perfectly and the bird can be heard singing in full voice as it flaps its wings, wags its tail and turns from side to side while its beak opens and closes in perfect synchronization with its song. The detail displayed on the case is outstanding, as is the rich colour and animation of the exquisite bird. Crafted during the 1920's, the bird box comes complete with its original outer case and bird shaped key.

 

The movement has been fully serviced and is operating perfectly.
