An exceptional Swiss 6 bell and drum musical box made in around 1865.

A superbly crafted case with detailed bird inlay to the lid, houses the bell and drum musical movement. The superb musical movement consists of 6 engraved tuned bells and brass drum which can be engaged or dis-engaged at will, allowing the listener to select the accompaniment for each individual tune. The excellent tune programme includes operatic pieces among others that bring out the very best of each of the instruments present here. Overall, a very fine piece of Victorian precision engineering combined with outstanding musical excellence.

Movement and case have been lovingly restored to the very highest of standards.
